Industry-oriented research institutions from Thuringia and Saxony collaborate in a variety of ways. The annual network meeting has become an established platform for exchange.

This year, the focus in Schmalkalden was on the topic of ‘AI in day-to-day project work’. Among other things, the discussion centred on how AI can be usefully applied in research and project work, and where its limitations lie.

Dimitri Korsch from the Institute for Applied Construction Research Weimar gGmbH led a workshop in which he worked with the participants to demonstrate how AI can be put to practical use in day-to-day project work. He urged participants simply to have the confidence to integrate these tools and make the most of their potential, whilst also recognising their limitations and handling the results with care.
