New GFE Partnership with Acubez® Strengthens International Impulses for Automation and Digitalization

GFE – the Society for Production Engineering and Development Schmalkalden – has established a strategic partnership with Acubez® Modular Automation during the delegation trip of Thuringia’s Minister President Mario Voigt to Israel. The high-level delegation, organized by LEG Thüringen, underscores the growing importance of international cooperation for Thuringia as a technology hub.

Discussions in Ashdod highlighted the strong potential of this collaboration: combining Israeli innovation with German engineering expertise opens new opportunities for digital production processes and modular automation solutions. These developments will also benefit the research and development priorities within the LongRunCycle network.

The focus of the partnership will include:

  • scalable smart factory concepts for small and medium-sized enterprises,
  • modular automation of existing machine parks,
  • and joint R&D approaches within the emerging Center for Digital Production at GFE.

This new partnership marks another key step in GFE’s ongoing internationalization strategy—following the recent cooperation with Satbayev University in Kazakhstan. The collaboration with Acubez not only strengthens regional innovation capacity, but also provides fresh momentum for us.
